Beauty Sector Invested on Global AI Tech Hub
L’Oréal announced an investment-backed plan for establishing its first global Tech Hub in Hyderabad. This marks a significant funding commitment towards the AI-driven innovation in the beauty sector.

L’Oréal is the world’s largest French multinational cosmetics and personal care company. It is known for its development, manufacturing, and selling of beauty products. They sell perfumes, makeup, skincare, and haircare. With a strong focus on scientific innovation and easier access to everyone, they also have brands like L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline, and Lancôme. In India, L’Oréal operates through mass-market, salon, luxury, and pharmacy channels with its brands. Their mission is to provide more responsible and innovative beauty products.
L’Oréal has announced a plan to establish its first Tech Hub in Hyderabad, marking its significant funding commitment towards artificial intelligence in the beauty sector. After the discussions at the World Economic Forum 2026, this announcement was made, in which the company partnered with the Government of Telangana by considering the key outcome of the 2026 India France year of Innovation.
The Hyderabad tech hub represents the first dedicated global Beauty Tech center of L’Oréal. It is backed up with an investment of INR 3,500 crore and is to be deployed through 2030. This funding supports infrastructure, advanced digital platforms, and a large-scale talent development, which focuses on AI, generative AI, data science, and agentic AI. According to the company, the tech hub is about to create around 2000 high-value technology roles over the next five years. This will become one of the main reasons for students to study in the best college for AI.

The Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal, Nicolas Hieronimus, said, “Building on more than three decades of presence in India, this investment allows us to place world-class Indian tech and AI expertise at the center of our global digital transformation”. He concluded that the company views India as a strategic partner in shaping future of technology-led business models.
This hub integrates into L’Oréal’s existing international tech network, which spans North America, that enables the cross-border collaboration and shared technology development. With this move, L’Oréal reinforces India’s position as a funding destination for the next generation of digital infrastructure and applied AI.
